Due to COVID-19 our fundraising was curtailed, but here are some of the events that took place during 2020...

January |
After Derek gave the Ryedale Lions Club a powerpoint demonstration on the work which we do in Ukerewe, Tanzania, we were presented with a cheque which allowed sixteen more children to receive school uniforms, books , pencils and pens so that they were able to attend school. The children were also given a Solar Light if their home did not have electricity.

We paid for another 500 Solar Lights to help the school children to see with a clean source of light, then they did their homework. This brings the total to 5564 Solar Lights provided to date.

March |
Through our Back-To-School fundraising, another 110 children received uniforms etc. These children were from 39 villages and 3 satellite islands which were visited and the children provided for.

April |
Our fundraising activities have now raised £58,000.00 since we started this charity! |

A donation was received from Scarborough Inner Wheel |

A donation was received from the Ryedale U3A book stall
|

A donation was also received from the Rotary Club of Filey for £650.00

| September |
We joined Amazon Smile and will receive 0.05% of most purchases. Just put our name on the charity section after you have logged into Amazon Smile. |

| November |
Through our medical fund, we were able to finance medical treatment for a further 22 children. |

|
In addition to the above, during the year we also received several donations from individuals for which we are extremely grateful. Our sincere thanks go to all of the above who have improved the lives of these children.
